What Type of Fencing to Use If You Are in a Windy Area
Beete
in fassung Rasenkante If
your garden is subject to high winds you should consider using open type
fencing i.e. palisade.
Palisade fencing allows the wind to travel through thus
relieving the pressure from the wind.
The type of fencing can look very pleasing to the eye and is
available in a variety of styles.
Palisade can be painted or treated with wood stain, it can
also be made by hand allowing you to choose your preference on the gap between
the pales and the tops of the pales can be pointed round topped or flat top.
Also the height of the fencing can be adjusted on
installation to your preference giving you a custom-made finish.
Palisade is also available as security fencing and can be
made with galvanised steel.
This can be treated with a plastic coating in various
colours or it can be powder coated again in various colours.
If your fencing is subject to high winds using conventional
panels can cause a great deal of strain on the posts supporting the panels.
The other option of fencing to use is called hit and miss
fencing, this comprises of pieces of wood behind and in front of the framework
of the fencing.
This gives more privacy but it is not as easy for the wind
to travel through the fencing.
The type of fencing mentioned above is ideal for windy areas
where conventional fencing may suffer greatly.
A normal panel type fence is not designed to withstand
strong winds unless additional substantial posts are installed.
